As I begin to immerse myself in my Introduction to Educational Technology class, I've started looking forward to what I hope to accomplish and learn as a result of the content I learn. Even though I don't necessarily plan to pursue education as a career, I still think that there is value in understanding the logic and manner in which I can teach someone something. Regardless of professional application, I think that the skills that this course will teach me will either aid me as supplemental material in other endeavors, or it will serve as an important base for further understanding other technologies, since I'd already have experience with technology thanks to this class. As long as my digital literacy and ability to explain/teach expands in this class, I will be satisfied with my progress.

Having said all of this, I am already starting at a decent advantage thanks to previous experience with technology in past courses I have taken. A few years ago, I took a variety of educational classes on Microsoft products like Powerpoint, Word, and Excel, so that at the end of these courses, I was able to receive Microsoft product certification. Additionally, I had used sites like Blogger and Wix in my Media classes for two years in order to track and report on progress I had been achieving while working on creative  projects. When taking these past experiences into consideration, I think that this course will be an effective addition to my knowledge and skills using technologies.

Interestingly enough, I have already been using Blogger for quite some time now. Earlier this year, in an effort to work on my consistency with writing and improve my stamina on working on a long-term project, I started my own blog website where I post twice a week. Originally, I wanted to discuss media I consume, but I've found that writing a little about everything (media, life experiences, inspirational content, creative ventures) has been a lot more stimulating to write about than just one subject. Thanks to this blog, not only have I found a venue where I can write about whatever I'm passionate about or find interesting this week, but I've also considerably improved my writing abilities as a result of working on it for months! Hopefully I will find working on this blog just as interesting and fun!
